This is my third piece published with the magazine to date. This is about reasonable adjustments in the workplace for people with mental health problems. 1500 words.

October 2008 - Mental health Today.
Recently, Richard uncovered a report that was about to be published by the IPCC on Police Sections - the scary Section 136. He was given access to the then unpublished report into how the police are changing their policy of detaining people in dire need of psychiatric treatment and detention.

Book - Giving Voice to the Inner Scream
In 2007 Richard published a book of investigative journalism (now out of print). It investigated 5 facets of the stigma of mental illness. Below is a chapter of the book which shows the NHS at its bureaucratic worst. Investigative journalism is never really cheery. It is done in hope of change on the part of those it focuses on - I am glad to report that national policy has changed since.
